When I started I didn’t know what I was doing. I was in so much pain. There had just been too much death. So many things unsaid, undone, and things that can’t ever be undone. Where I didn’t ever want to sleep, because I never wanted to wake up and have to do the remembering again. I did anything and everything I could to distract myself from it. I still do it today, but the distractions have become slightly less self-destructive. Like this, it is a distraction.

sick of the wishy washy ones. the ones who say they totally support ‘sex workers rights’, but what about trafficking, or what about ‘exploitation’. Don’t these people realize that the laws currently being proposed and passed in too many places are designed to make it harder for sex workers themselves to end any exploitation we might suffer. It prevents us from working together, looking out for each other, prevents us from contracting law abiding managers or agents, prevents us from screening potential clients, prevents us from hiring body guards. And so much more. And the rhetoric of pity that is used to sell the crap laws to the wishy washy people, they think it’s so nice - after all, who wouldn’t prefer being pitied to being thought of as ‘immoral or criminal’ and these people don’t understand that neither the immoral nor pitiably exploited category is the truth of the thing.

I mean seriously. Sex trafficking. The people on this list who actually know anything about ‘sex trafficking’ are people who are basically abolitionists. Julie Bindel ffs. The other people on this list, the ones who don’t know anything about ‘sex trafficking’ - well they just don’t know anything about it, now do they? They have no idea of the way consensual prostitution is considered ‘trafficking’. They have no idea that the preferred method of ‘ending sex trafficking’ is to ‘end the demand’, which is just beyond farcical They have no idea that some on that list consider prostitution itself to be ‘violence against women’. Was pitching a fit about libertarianism earlier on twitter. I was defending left libertarianism which always confuses people. So many interactions! Here’s the thing… I think of libertarianism like I do feminism, there is good and bad in either, but the people I hope to galvanize are people who generally think feminism can do no wrong and libertarianism can do no right. I want people who care about things like easing suffering, or dare I say “social justice”, to understand that feminism CAN do wrong, and libertarianism CAN do right, and we have to understand the whys and hows of these rights and wrongs to be able to counteract or harness them productively.
